View Full Version : Chip Stacking Trick
Not sure where I got these. They were sent to me ages ago but some people like to spend as much time learning this as they do playing poker.
This is a LARGE file load, about .5 meg so it takes a while.
I have a couple of others I will get up if they don't lag the forum too much. If so I will offload them to a separate page.

I can't do that to save my life!! Try starting with two stacks of 3.

I prefer to use my thumb to lift the stack on my right. I couldn't sleep one night, so I stayed up till around 4 figuring it out. I still embarass myself in public, though  It is easier on cushioned tables, though. I was able to do stacks of 6 the other night 8)

so the question is do you want people to know you're a seasoned player or do you want them to think you're a beginner?

I want them to think that I am a bad player who can do cool things with chips.

I dont really do it all that much when i play in home games where no one knows me. But its not like it matters. I see really ad players who can do lots of chip trick. to me i think its cause they spend there time practeing that and not poker. but hay what do i know.

I guess I would be better at chip stacking if I ever had any chips to stack
It is just a habit for me....seems like I always have to be touching my chips or my cards.
Which, by the way, I notice a lot of players once they have peeked at their cards, do not ever touch them again until they fold or turn over. Is there any ettiquette (sp?) that says you shouldn't touch or play with your pocket cards?

You can keep looking at your cards if you like. Most people don't want to react to the cards. Some players will look at the cards to when they have a stron hand and they wan to look like they are checking to see if it's worth calling. with experience you can figure out when to look at your cards and when not to.
As far as chip stacking.... I lived in Vegas and played a lot of table games. I don't even remember when I began stacking them. It's a habbit (maybe it's a tell). I will have to watch that from now on.
Oops... I hope nobody figures out who I am at the tournement on Sat.
Good Luck!

Do you really think so? I think that the give of a cushioned surface throws me off.

I personally have the chip stacking mastered. It's the flipping of 1 chip down the back of your hand, across each knuckle, that I can't seem to get. Will just have to keep working on it I guess.

as for ettiquette not really. Some player might call bad ettiquette for lots of movement at a table. For i just think there are winey.

I would much rather have people thinking that I am a beginner; thus, I avoid doing any type of tricks.
