From what I hear, Kem plastic cards are the way to go. Do they really last 30x as long?
I only have a set of 100 11.5 g chips with the suits on them. My friends don't really play yet, but I like to mess around with the chips. I'd like to buy a set of clay chips since my composite ones have a sharp edge.
Kem is about the best for cards. Plastic and washable and if you bend one, they will send you a replacement.
For the 'real' chips you need to plan on paying about $1 each. .89 if you catch a deal.
If there is, down the road, enough interest, I can get Kems for about $20 give or take +shipping if I buy enough of them ( 72+ setups ) and clay chips for a lot less but the min order is 100,000 so you better have one heck of a home game going :D

 I can't believe they'll replace bent cards
My gf bought some of those clear plastic cards from some random store, but they get scratched really easily. I imagine the Kems are a completely different kind of plastic and since they're opaque, the scratches aren't visible...right? :?:
What's the heaviest clay chip you can get? Or are they all composites now
Well people 'advertise' the chips as clay composite. When in fact they are a plastic composite with metal core made to feel like clay ( close anyway).
You can now get them up to 13.5 grams and I have no idea why anyone would want to play with these slugs.
I prefer the simple 9gram composites. Casino chips, the real deal, weigh in at about 8-9 grams.
I have about 300 of the Sahara Reno chips, $1, that are brand new because they never made it to the tables because the LV gaming commission rejected them and they are sweet.
The only reason to use the heavy ones is if that's the only excercise you are getting or you want to seriously bean the guy at the end of the table who just sucked out on you. :D

as for chips. Check out ebay there are some realy sweet deals. I'm have 3000 custom chips made up. I dont mean hot stamp. They will be a custom imprint and custom picture. Its costing me a very nice penny. As for cards kem are the way to go. Make sure u get the small number ones. other wise players have to bind the card really far back to see what they got.

I would agree with Rick...Kem cards are the best. Need several decks though.
