The Gilpin runs NL sitngos all day every day. As soon as enough players show up. From $20+$5 to $100+$15

They normally only run $40 & $100 SnG's in the evening--unless you can get 10-11 people that want to play with a cheaper buy-in. Even then, they will only probably consider that if they can't fill any of the SnG's they have a signup sheet for.
They won't start any SnG's after 10:30pm.

Made it to the Gilpin yesterday afternoon, I missed the start of the $30+5 SnG so I ended up playing at the $2/$4 table. I went up with a buddy and it was the first time we had played up there for both of us. I really liked the poker room and I was getting great cards. Ended up winning $200 in 2 and a half hours of play, my buddy won about $50. Didnt have any maniacs at the table like I have heard about but the younger guys sure like to bet to the river with draws :P I like that alot!!!
Quick question....My buddy and I bought in for $100 and we had the biggest stacks to start by far....is that too much to start with on a $2/$4 table?
Glad you had luck.I always buy in a full rack and it's not to much more than what most would call the 'norm'.

I, and most of my friends, always buy-in for $100 at the 2/4 table.

I am going to hit up the Gilpin for the first time this weekend, and I plan on bringing $100 for the 2/4 game.

I always buy in for a rack, ($100) However I wouldnt recommend 2-4 to anyone. I have a much better time with 2-5 personally.

My brief experience with spread limit was 2-6 at the Excalibur, I don't know that I liked it as much as fixed limit...who knows, I will probably just sit in whatever game I can get into more quickly..

Colorado Central Station also has SnG ~ but I've never actually seen one happen ~ my name is usually the only one on the list ~ but I havent been there lately and that may have changed... same as Gilpin, amount varies depending on people...
So the Gilpin has 2-5 AND 2-4 fixed? THat'd be interesting to play 2-4

CCS still "offers" SnG's. You put your name on a list with the buy-ins you'll play. Like Martin said, you'll probably be waiting a very, very long time.

Gilpin has a $25+5 buy-in @ 10pm on Fridays. 22 players max, pays top 3. First is $275, Second is $165, and third would be $110. I finished first last night, but chopped the first and second prize money a little different to get it over with. :hangloos:

What other games are there? Is there a 4-8 or 5-10 table? Just moved here from Los Angeles, so trying to figure out where to play.... thanks!

nope unfortunetly the biggest bet you can make in CO is $5....on anything including poker....you can play $5-$5 for some bigger pots but that's not really poker, it's more just pure gambling....

State law only allows 5 dollar max bets, and VERY Limited table games...therefore Colorado Casinos only offer $2-5 spread. Its a very profitable game! I play my tightest ABC poker up there...probably only seeing 20% Flop. There usually is only one blind (chase the dealer) so you can raise $5 on top of the inital $2 blind...making it 7 to go. If you are at the right table, you can generally protect your hand preflop. Since its spread poker, there is very little need to get fancy post flop. If you have it... bet it!... and look out for the Asians that are action junkies. They will lose all day just to bust you with a 2 4 for a straight in a monster pot...not for the money but the satisfaction of ripping your heart in half! Its a better game than the Vegas 2-4 limit and better than the $5 min- $5 max BJ they offer!

2-4 and 2-5 games, along with the 5/5 games are more like playing bingo. Cap the post every time, no matter what tyou have. It is really a lame game at times.

TJ, give 2-5 a shot at Golden Gates....not really that crazy of a game at all.....in fact some people there play way too tight actually.....this old guy didn't even re-raise me with the stone cold nuts on the river when I made it three bets, I just said thanks for saving me a bet...
*yes I know I was the same person who hated limit a year ago....now I've become a 2-5 a junkie....

If you are looking for a game that is not "bingo poker" try Fortune Valley. It is the tightest game I have ever seen. You are mainly playing with an older crowd. I would say the average age is 60+! They are good tight players. It is usually the best poker up there, but it can get a little dry from time to time. There are very few large pots, but sometimes it will happen!

the worst table you can be at in a 2-5 game is a tight solid table...if you want to make any money that is.....the most profitable tables are the loose tables where everyone is drinking and having a good time...there will be many more suckouts sure, but when people chase they will only get there a small % of the time over the long run...
but I agree the super reckless games like I've seen at the Lodge and Central Station are no fun either because you really never have a clue where you are at....
