Is anyone going up to the gilpin for the freeroll today? I think I'm going to head up that way and give it a try. If anyone else is up there today, feel free to come say Hi, I'll be the young guy in the black fleece and black oakley hat.

Definitely report back. I'm curious to see if they actually fill all 60 seats. I'd also like to know when all 60 seats are filled.
If I didn't have to be up there until 2:30 or so, I'd definitely look into taking some comp time from work to go up there to play on a Wednesday.
Good luck!

According to their schedule, the freeroll he's talking about is a 55 player free tourney with a $300 prize pool paying 3 places. It doesn't start until 3:00.

Oops. 55 players.
Probably 5 tables of 11 players (boo). Oh well, I wouldn't complain.

300$ they said sometimes it fills up by noon so I got there by noon, I dont even think it filled up today though, hell I dont know, that was over a case of beer and like 10,000 hands ago lol.... Great time as always at the gilpin though, Tourney was 1k chips people were rather loose as can be expected in a tourney. Down below the poker room 12.77 steak and shrimp was nice, I can testify to that. One of the highlights I remember, along with the profuse ammounts of alcohol consumed. I think now being my 3rd trip up there I know most of the full time dealers on a first name basis, they are really friendly. I hit like 8 boats today to score some entries into that 10k WSOP buyin drawing. Lost with 3 boats though but couldnt seem to get aces full of 8s or better when I did though :( I hope this post makes as much sense in the morning as it does now....

They announced a start of a new tourney next week too, I dont remember all the details but here is how it works. Its a freeroll on Mon Tues and thurs, I dont remember times. House throws down 100$ for the pot, Each player can rebuy up to 3 times for 10$ a time, each 10$ goes back into the total pot for the tourney. They didnt say anything about a juice at all.... Sounds like it will be fun
