First night= bad went to Central station

I went up to Colorado central station in blackhawk tonight. Never been up to a casino before lost BACK 2 BACK against FOUR OF A KIND Queens with pocket kings and then 2 pair ace six..... What are the odds of loosing to 4 of a kind twice in a row, much less 4 of a kind of the same exact card... Dealer must not have shuffled the deck?

Well .... that's certainly a statistical anomaly but not outside the realm of possibility. What does it mean that the dealer "didn't shuffle the deck"? In order for someone to hit quad Q's, there had to be a Q in the (say) 1st, 11th, 22nd, and 25th position after the deck was shuffled. If all the Q's were clumped together after the first hand and the dealer didn't shuffle, they'd be clumped together and dealt out to multiple people.

Weird things happen at the table all the time. There doesn't have to be a person at fault when they do.

Good luck on your next poker outing. Maybe you'll be the one to profit from a statistical aberation. :)

Yeah I guess it was just a fluke, but if it was your first time ever going to a casino and that happened, wouldn't you be a bit suspicious? It even came out the same on the flop third of the flop and then the river both times. I just thought it was odd, had played a fair bit of poker only once seen a 4 of a kind, then for two 4 of a kinds to come up of the same card in a row just seemed freaky, either way lost all my money in a short period of time to a freak incident.

Nah. I'd just say you were (very) unlucky. I'll bet the next 5 times you go up to Blackhawk, you'll see quads once or not at all.

I've played at B&M casinos about 15 times now (2-4 hours per visit), and I've seen quads twice and a straight flush once.

Some times luck plays a part in it....you just had it agaoinst ya on that day!
