The Gilpin " Big One "

OK, who is planning on playing in the $50K tourney this next weekend at the Gilpin poker room.

I want to make sure there is enough DEAD MONEY going to make it worth my while :twisted:

If I win my game tonight I'll be in. So basically, that's a no.

HOWEVER, a little birdie told me they will be offering a "second chance" tournament shortly after this one.

So are they going to have ring games running during the tourney?

I want to come check the place out this weekend, but I'm not a tourney player.

That's a very good question.

I have some friends that may want to go up to play this weekend, too.

I'll call and find out.

The guy I talked to just now probably can't even spell his own name.

The tournament starts at 9am; however, I'm sure the Gilpin will be using almost all of their dealers to run the big tournament, so they may not have ring games or SnGs until the evening.

What really blows is that it starts on Saturday and goes 3 days to Monday. It should have started today (Friday) and end Sunday. That way if you start on Friday you could tell your boss that you definitely won't be in on Friday if your flight started on Friday. You knew with some advanc warning that you won't be at work then. How do you you tell the boss "Well if I'm good enough or the cards are good, I'll be out Monday; otherwise i'll show up for work."

Total disregard for the working poker player.
