Since we're gamblers, do any of you bet on sports?

I have had success with football pools, and I play the NCAA basketball brackets but that is about it for me.

I will usually place a couple of bets over the weekend durring football season. Nothing too expensive, just enough to make watching more interesting.

I tried an experiment. I spent a full NFL season picking 6 games a week against the spread, just to see how I would do. It's a good thing I didn't have money on it, because I wouldn't have done very well. I don't think I would ever bother betting on it for real, though. I don't know how anyone can make money betting on the NFL.

I have real good luck with the office NFL pool. I win 5 to 6 times a season! I won the last two weeks and I should win my third week tonight!!

Last year I didnt win at all the first 8 weeks of the season and then I won 5 of the last nine and everyone was getting mad! There is not a pool going on at where I work now, so I havent been able to play.

I plan on not playing next week. The pool went from 85 people playing to this week of 20 so I will not play and let the pool get bigger then play again! :twisted:

The key to making money is to work really hard at handicapping, then when you picked your team, bet the other way. Guaranteed way to make money :twisted:

Get this! A fellow poker player friend of mine was in Vegas last weekend. He went to the sports book and saw that the Red Sox were a 35-1 underdog to come back and win the series down 3 games to 0. He put $1000 down on the bet and subsequently won 35 GRAND!!! :shock: What a ballzy bet. I wish I had done it. lol yea right, I'd sooner have gone all in with 7-2os on my first hand in the WSOP. hehe :P

I bet in three football pools, run a NCAA tournament (usually about 100 players or so), and sometimes will take a crack at placing a bet or two on football games.
