I recently started going up to Blackhawk and while I really enjoy playing up there, I'm finding that I'm having a lot of trouble with all the smoke in the casinos. After sitting at a table for 4 or 5 hours, my throat tightens up and I get severe congestion in my sinuses along with a headache. It's so bad I usually have to leave. I've tried allergy meds, but they don't seem to help.

Is there anywhere up in Blackhawk or Central City that has a smoke-free card room? And if not, is there any casino where the ventilation seems better? I never have this problem in Vegas, but as soon as I step foot into a hill casino, I immediately feel like I just inhaled a pack's worth of smoke.

The Gilpin's poker room, be it because it's half-non-smoking or because the games haven't really gotten going yet, seems to be much better in this area.

Sometimes it does cause some problems, but usually if you sit next to the dealer, you can avoid a little of the smoke.

Plus, all tournaments are non-smoking.

Because of the close proximity of players in a poker room, I don't smoke at the table. If I really 'need' a cigarette I get up and leave, go to the bar for ten minutes and have a cigarette. It seems the least I can do to create a good environment for all the players. People are just sitting way too close for it to be comfortable to have smokers at a table.

Every poker room I've been to in Vegas is non-smoking and I think the Hill casinos should do the same.
