Here are two questions in regards to assigned seating at poker tournaments.
(1) At Fat City, everyone had to draw cards to see what table they were at. The cards were aces through tens, with the table number written at the top. To me, it sounded like it meant Table #, Seat #. However, no one said anything about that, and people sat where they liked at the table. Plus, the whole dealing thing would've messed it up anyways. Were those cards meant as assigned seating?
(2) At DPP, you are given a card with the table and seat number writter on it. Last night, I was table 5, seat 4. When I get to the table, the guy who is sitting in seat 3 is in seat 4, and the guy who is in seat 2 is in seat 3. I thought it might be an honest mistake. I ask the gentlemen to scoot down one seat. The guy currently in seat 3 says, "do you really want your seat? Does it really matter?" I reply it does matter. He shakes his head, mutters loudly to the guy next to him, "What an a**hole," and moves down one seat. Was I in the wrong to ask for my assigned seat?
It was obvious this was his first tournament. On the very first hand of the night, he calls an all-in with T4os on the river because there's a T on the board. He got beat by four queens. Karma's a b**ch, eh?
