Can anyone give me any ideas which of the numerous poker leagues or "tours" in the area they consider the best, most fun, fairest, enjoyable, and worthwhile, without a blatent advertisement for one or the other. I've played a number of different DPT locations and they seem pretty good but would like some info on some of the others from people who play them before travelling all over creation trying to decide for myself. I'm pretty lazy in other words. Thanks for any feedback.

Denver Poker Parties, hands down, is the best tour out there right now. I have no desire to ever attend another DPT event. For self-deal tournaments, the Fat City one was very well-run.

Totally agree. DPP has a very nice event.

Agreed, as far as the free bar tourny's...DPP hands down. Luckily I am already qualified in the DPT final event and can go play much better games with DPP in my opinion.

Thanks. I'll have to give DPP a try. I've played quite a few DPT events but as of yet, have not qualified. 3rd is my closest. I'm just not a big fan of the format. With only $500 in starting chips, you have to get in there quick, playing some hands that you might not otherwise, just to get some wins and chips to keep from being blinded out. It's free though so I can't complain. (although some knuckleheads do)

I would rate the DPT games the best for the simple fact that they provide dealers! if I wanted to deal my own cards, I would stay at home with my friends and play. I also wouldn't have to pay $3 for a beer each time either. I have played in CSL and DPP games as well as over at Fat City the last couple of weeks. I have looked at the prizes that each are giving away and so far it seems only DPT is giving away the $10,000 WSOP seat. they are also giving away a trip to Las Vegas for two each week at random bars. Isn't that everyone else's Grand Prize? You know, people might complain about the format, but HEY they have the best prizes for a reason. I AM SICK OF SELF DEAL!!! I'LL TAKE AN ALL ANTE GAME ANYDAY TO PREVENT THAT!!!

ON A SIDE NOTE. FAT CITY!!!! YOU PROBABLY HAVE FIGURED OUT AFTER LOSING 100 PLAYERS IN A WEEK THAT PEOPLE DON'T LIKE SELF DEAL GAMES. AND NOW MAKING PEOPLE DEAL THAT ARE IN THE CENTER OF THE TABLE IS JUST STUPID! 185 PLAYERS YOUR FIRST NIGHT, 100 THE NEXT, THEN LESS THAN 60 THE ONE AFTER THAT! OUGHT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!!!

Well, at least I know who our biggest fan is. Back up to 114 this week and I think things are running smoother.

We are considering hiring dealers. It's hard to make it work financially. Thanks for the input even IF IT WAS ALL IN CAPS.

Biggest problem I have with the Fat City tourney is that they sell your personal info to timeshare companies and still can't afford dealers...weak sauce....

Fact is none of these tournaments are ever going to be perfect, but for being free it's see maybe we get on them more than we should....

My only complaint with DPP is the one time they let 4 people in the main game twice...might have been a one time thing who knows...

DPT would be the long long waitlist.....I would like to see a cutoff of no more than one extra table's worth ie 11 people after that...too bad...and thus no more calling ahead...DPP's system of showing up an hour early and getting a seat card is ideal...

Also I think Brian needs to stop bashing all of the other tours...so what if they don't offer as good of prizes, at least some of them put some money into nicer chips and tables...and professional acting dealers who don't constantly whine about tips...

With all of that being said I will continue to enjoy of all of the various tours for as long as they are around, which may not be all that much longer, who knows if Colorado will follow in the wake of some other states in shutting these down...
