All you have to do is win :)

We have received, agreed to and signed a commitment letter with PMC Inc that GUARANTEES at least one of the members of the DenverPoker.com community will be playing for a seat to the $1,000,000 Final Table Grand Prize.

Now tell me, what would you think the pot odds are in comparison?

Buy a ticket to the lottery and face 1 in 40,000,000+ odds against you

Get struck by lightning, about 1 in 1,000,000

or

Be a contributing member here at Denver Poker and get, currently, about 1 in 650* odds ???!???

The pot odds here are in your favor.

Take away a large % of lurkers and you have some pretty decent odds at a shot at part of the $3,000,000 total prize pool and the $1,000,000 grand prize.

And get to be on TV to boot.

Oh yeah, and it's FREE 8)

Anyone else offering you a $1,000,000 freeroll?

Where else can you get more bang for your buck then here at DP :)

Rules and more information are on the website and you must sign up prior to the event via the link on the front page of this site, the random 'TV' banner that rotates through the site or HERE (http://www.pokermillionairechallenge.com/jpm/).

*Based on current member registrations at the time of posting and subject to change daily.

For the commercial and larger home game runners:

Interested in the unreal advertising potential that can be gained by hosting tournaments for this event for DenverPoker.com?

If you aren't, you should be.

Wouldn't your establishment gain a higher profile from this event?

Of course it would.

We are looking for a host game site for this. Cost is free. You just provide the facilities and game, we provide the players and hype.

If you have the facilities to host this and would like to co host this DenverPoker.com event feel free to contact me ASAP. PM or email me at "rick AT denverpoker.com" a name and contact number and I will get back to you.

If you have a related business or service or know of one, or can brow beat one and (they) would be interested in a sponsorship opportunity, we are also looking to give away "pretty much anything" to the players at the event(s). ie, promo items such as Tshirts, Poker and PC goodies, food/bar vouchers, Rolex watches, Corvettes :) etc.

Million dollar marketing events for free don't come along every day ;)

I will be posting more about the 'nuts and bolts' of this shortly. I will probably start a thread under the EVENTS forum for all the info.

OOPS Turns out we don't have an EVENTS forum
I will find a home for it and post it as it develops.

I am looking right now to gather sponsors, venue(s) etc. I don't intend this to be a drawing, but an actual live game(s) (free of course) that will determine the winner.

Now invitations to that game will not be just tossed about but will be very easy to get ;)

But as for you personally, I wouldn't worry, your invite is pretty much assured.
For you I see: Posts=40 and that would qualify as a contributing member ;)

I actually meant I signed up on the PMC website earlier this month (shortly after registering on this fine website).

Odds of winning Powerball: 1 in 121,000,000

Odds of getting hit by lightning (any given year): 1 in 240,000

Odds of getting hit by lightning (if you live to be 80 years old): 1 in 3000

I don't like those odds! :(

I will post more about this shortly. It will take some time to set up but rest assured, just about any member here will be welcome.

Depending on the venue there will either be 1 or a series of playoffs for the entry. I have 2 venues to check out and am looking for more right now.

By the way, newspaper ads for this start running on Monday next week and run for 2 months so it better be big :?

Hi Rick,

I have already signed up on that web site too. Which newspaper will the ad be in so I can start spreading the word for people to be on the look out?
Let's start a pool on how many registered users there will be by the end of the year! With the ad in the newspaper this site should grow FAST! :!:

My guess will be 2,005 members by year end. What a way to start the year :P

It will be in the Denver Daily News on M-W-F to start. I got the CU ad rates and those people really think highly of themselves  but will see about adding it soon.
As soon as I shake this cold I will get a writer I use to do a press release for it and plan some more timed releases.

I always need more cowbell. Anyone hear anything more on the satellites for this challenge? The site said emails would be sent out with details on December 1st. That was yesterday I believe and I did not receive anything.

Ok, I wrote them to get an update and here is the info I got back:

Main Event:
August 9-13, 2005 will be the 1st Annual Poker Millionaire Challenge main event and will be held at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The Plaza is one of the premier poker tournament casinos in the world which made it a top choice for the Poker Millionaire Challenge (PMC). The Plaza has sponsored outstanding events like "The Plaza Ultimate Poker Challenge" which aired on the FOX Sports Net's Poker Invitational telecast with higher ratings than the Travel Channel's World Poker Tour, and ESPN's World Series of Poker.

Regional Events:
Beginning May 2005, five regional events will begin for Non-Wild Card Participants to play for their spot at the main event. The tentative regional schedule is as follows:

Atlantic City Tropicana Casino May 22-23
Kansas City Isle of Capri Casino TBA
Tunica Grand Casino TBA
Los Angles Hollywood Park Casino TBA
Las Vegas Plaza Casino August 8th
Additionally, PMC will host 2 online regional events for international players through our online partner.

Promotional sponsors will be awarded regional seats to offer their players. Soon, PMC will announce all the promotional sponsors and the quantity of seats they have been awarded/still available. If you are not selected as a Wild-Card Participant through the online application process, working with our promotional partners will be your avenue to the Poker Millionaire Challenge. Regional Seats are valued at $2,500, but with the unique PMC approach, these seats and the prize pool at the main event will be paid entirely by the sponsors, requiring No-Buy-In on your part.

Professional Category:
As many are aware, the PMC is selecting Wild-Card Participants from 3 different categories: Amateur, Professional and Celebrity. January 2005, we will begin the selection process for the Amateur Wild-Card Participants. We have also received commitments from a variety of participants in the Celebrity Category, and will begin announcing the names in January as well.

However, we are proud to begin announcing a small sampling of the players in the PMC Professional Category:

Sammy Farha has earned one of the prestigious World Series of Poker bracelets. However, Sam may be best known for his $1.3 million winning second place performance in the 2003 World Series of Poker. Although Farha was defeated by newcomer Chris Moneymaker in this epic showdown, he came back to beat Moneymaker several months later. Farha is also an expert in other types of gaming such as pinball and video gaming. Farha is currently in the process of writing a book, working on the creation of a poker reality TV show, and developing a video game.

Thomas “Thunder" Keller has been called the greatest young poker player in the world. While that may be disputable the fact that he beat out 253 players to win the World Series of Poker. It is said that at one point Keller acquired, over a length of time, all of the $100 chips that the particular casino owned; this was estimated to be worth over 1 million dollars in chips. Keller has established himself very quickly in the poker world and is constantly getting better. This alone was enough to select him for Poker Millionaire Challenge.

Daniel Negreanu has become one if not the best poker player in the world. Daniel won 12 major tournaments from 1997-1999 and he won a WSOP event at the age of 23 and became the youngest man to ever win a WSOP event. Many people argue that Daniel is the greatest poker player in the world.

David Anthony Williams did not start playing poker until 1997 but has already made a few million ($3.5) doing so. He finished second to Greg “Fossilman” Raymer in the 2004 World Series of Poker championship event. Like Greg and 2003 winner Chris Moneymaker, David won his entry to the event by playing online at PokerStars. This is exactly why we have selected David Williams.

The PMC will be an exciting event, but limited in the amount of players, so pay close attention to the website and updates from the PMC for either your name selected as a Wild-Card Participant or Regional Seat offerings that are up for grabs through our Promotional Sponsors.
