Unless I can quickly gather up a home game (or maybe a DU hockey ticket), I'll probably head over here tonight after work with some co-workers. They may whine and want to go to Boston's, so I may pop over to sign-up around 5:45 then head back until start time.

Denver Poker Parties is a top-notch setup!

I started (and ended) my evening on Table 5, Seat 1. I finished somewhere between 18th-20th place.

I will definitely be going to more of their events, especially since most of them are down south closer to where I live.

It is really nice having some first class games in the south metro area. DPP is one of the best.

Cool. You can change the thread subject.

Anyways, bumping this thread. Once again, I'll be hanging out at Boston's until it's time to play (except for signing-up at 6).

I convinced four of my co-workers to head down with me to try this out tonight. We arrived at CB & Pott's at 5:55 to wait to get our tickets. Wow! The poker room was packed! We went and got our tickets, then went over to Boston's (sorry CB&P, I prefer Boston's for my eating and drinking merryment*). We ate, and went back to CB&P at 6:55 to sit down.
* - Never fear: two over my co-workers racked up almost a $90 tab at CB&P.

We almost all sit at different tables (two are sitting together). Mind you, three of them have absolutely no NL tournament experience outside our occasional home games. By the end of the night, we finished in 9th, 10th, 11th (me :(), ~16th, and 18th places. Not too bad, eh? The guy who knocked me and 10th place out (at the same time--please see the How Would YOU Play It? forum) ended up winning the whole thing. I think got my co-wokers hooked. We might play at Fox & Hound on Sunday night!

One interesting thing: I got dealt pocket aces FOUR TIMES (thrice in the main event, once in the consolation round). Three times, the pair held up; and once, I got trips on the flop and won.

Three of us got on the final consolation table of the night, and I came away victorious! :) A certificate (which will hang in my cubicle to taunt my co-wokers ) and a jug of beer was my prize. :D

Once again, another outstanding event put on by Denver Poker Parties!

I'm most likely going to be heading down there on Friday night (3/25) to play.

If I remember to bring it to work, I'll be wearing a purple hockey jersey (can't miss it). I'll be over at Boston's with some co-workers before and after I register for the tournament (probably start standing in line at 5:30).

I was very surprised when I walked into CB & Potts tonight. It was about 5:35pm, and the TD was already giving out table tickets! The alternates list was pretty long, as the first table didn't break down until about 8:30.

I rode a roller coaster ride of highs and lows, and eventually finished 8th out of about 65-70 people.

Briefly met Timmay, who was knocked out early and then disappeared (where did you go?).

All in all, another enjoyable time. It also helped watching Kentucky put the kibosh on Utah, and Duke get pasted by Michigan State! :o

LOL, in the bar licking my wounds watching the games...my brother got beat with pocket aces so I drank his prize...serves him right. :D

Yeah, they were handing out the tickets when we got there about when you did...he wasn't fibbing folks, yoiu could see that jersy he was wearing ten miles away.

Another classic night of free poker...

Swede, we'll hook up again some evening, there or elswhere....Potts isn't nearly as bad as I have heard from some folks.
