I would like to start this post to just list games that the DPT is holding.


SUPER POKER PARTY BOWL!!!

Come join the Denver Poker Tour this Sunday afternoon for a Super Poker Party Bowl game at TJ's Wash Park Lounge. (Located at the NE corner of Alameda & Downing).

We will be playing a DEEP STACK poker tournament starting at NOON. (Registration starts at 11 AM IN PERSON ONLY!) Every player will receive 5000 in chips, and you will receive a bonus 1000 chips if you have a valid Restaurant & Bar Digger card, and the coupon form our previous newsletter.

Prizes will be awarded for the Top 3 Finishers in the tournament.

Starting at Kickoff time:
We will be playing FOOTBALL BINGO!

Watch the BIG GAME and play against all of your friends for some great prizes from Budweiser and Bing Energy. Every time you get a BINGO, you will get a prize!

We will have great food and drink specials all day long!

DPT is going to the World Series!

This Sunday, February 17th to February 20th, Team DPT and several of our past months winner's are heading out to the World Series of Poker Circuit Event in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Team members Brian Masters, Sam Scott, Howard Narlinger & Paul Orrison will be joined by 10 of our past monthly winners at this event. Some of the events we will be participating in include:

Event #1 No Limit Hold'em $300.00 Buy In - Starting at Noon
Mega Satellite $300.00 Buy In - Starting at 3 PM if necc.
Second Chance NLH $175.00 - Starting at 5 PM if necc.
Mega satellite $500.00 Buy In - Starting at 7 PM if necc.

Last year, we went out and were able to make the Final table of the Event #1 and cash out in 8th place. This year we expect to do better.

The Denver Poker Tour joined the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Crush, and Denver Nuggets for the Havana Nights Charity Event.
We helped raise over $100,000 for local Colorado Charities.

ESPN, Channels 4, 7, and 9 and the NBA were in attendance.

Adrenaline Chicks Charity Poker & Blackjack Tournament

A $35.00 suggested* donation gets you into the event, a FREE drink, and some appetizers.

The Blackjack Tournament will tentatively be scheduled this evening as well, and prizes will be awarded to the player who accumulates the most chips during play.

The Denver Poker Tour is pleased to announce the creation of the Colorado State Poker Championship.

This will be a series of 18 - 21 events held this summer at local Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek casinos. The first event will be held May 10th, 2008 at Braun's, next to the Pepsi Center, benefiting the Progress 4 Prostate cancer research center.

Winner will also be listed in the official Colorado State Poker Championship listings, promotions, and marketing over the summer.

Door prize drawings will be held all day long. Silent and verbal auction will also be on hand. Gift bags for everyone in attendance.

How'd you guys do in Vegas last week?

Dunno about the DPT crew, but I cashed in the Caesar's Palace Mega Stack series, taking 39th in one of the $340's.

And then I came back the next weekend and sat through some of the worst play I've ever seen at a DPT table, but what the hey. :o

Most of the DPT is going to Las Vegas on July 3rd or 4th to play in the WSOP including myself, Paul Orrison, Sam Scott, Howard Narlinger, Chris Massey, Nick and Jessica H, and about a dozen or so more. Hopefully we can do as well as some of the other DPT players who have cashed this year at the WSOP.

At this time we would like to congratulate Christine Priday, a DPT player who frequently plays at Choppers and Araps, for her 4th place finish at the 2008 Ladies WSOP Event. She won $87,715.

DPT 2nd Chance Charity Tournament

The Denver Poker Tour is holding a Charity Poker Tournament at Jackson's Sports Bar in Downtown Denver, CO. on October 22nd.

Registration begins at 5 PM that evening and the Tournament will start at 7 PM sharp!

A suggested donation of $35.00 per player will be accepted and appreciated.

Monies will go to the www.adrenalinechicks.com charity.
Adrenaline Chicks is a womens' based charitable organization raising funds for womens' issues such as cancer, heart disease, and other womens' issues.

So, here is the good news!
If you have been knocked out of the semi-final qualifier of the Denver Poker Tour, YOU CAN GET BACK IN!

PRIZES
All participants will be competing for several prizes including:

Top 10% of all final players will advance into the Denver Poker Tour Championship to be held on October 25th, in Denver, Colorado. Prizes at that tournament will be totaling more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Starting OFFICIALLY October 26th, but you might see it in select location before the official date, the Denver Poker Tour will be awarding Certificates and Invitations at our Monthly, Mid-Way, and Charity Poker Tournaments to award the Top 3 Players.

1st Place will receive a Certificate/Invitation for 2500 in chips
2nd Place will receive a Certificate/Invitation for 1000 in chips
3rd Place will receive a Certificate/Invitation for 500 in chips

to be used at our Monthly, Mid-Way, and Semi-Final poker Tournament events! The more certificates/invitations that you have, the more chips you will get!

We will also be adding a 2nd TOURNAMENT A NIGHT AT ALMOST ALL OF OUR LOCATIONS!!!

Also starting October 26th, most of our Denver Poker Tour locations will be adding an additional game.

If the game usually starts at 7 PM, the location will also have an ADDITIONAL game scheduled to start at 9:30 PM, and no later than 9:45 PM. This additional game will go until we have a winner, or midnight, which ever comes first. At midnight, the player with the most chips will be declared the winner. The Top 3 players of the 2nd game will also receive the new 1,2,3 Certificate/Invitation. So stick around and play the late game if you are knocked out, or come join us for a later starting game!!!

On Sunday, February 1st we will be hosting a HUGE Super Bowl Party for our many groups. This will be an all day event, feel free to come out anytime. This is what we will be doing!

Doors Open at Noon so does Registration!

1 PM - Closure Poker Tournament (FREE TO PLAY)

Only the first 120 people will be allowed to play.
(There is NO prize being awarded for the Poker Tournament other than a Trinket Trophy)
Each player will start with 10,000 in chips,
Blinds will start at 25 - 50 and rounds will be 25 Minutes

2 PM to 6 PM

Event #4 - "Modified Shootout" No Limit Texas Hold'em

October 24th, 2009
The Oak Tavern - 1416 Market Street Denver, CO. 80202
Registration begins 11 AM
Tournament begins at Noon

Event Format:
Each player will start with 5,000 in chips. 30 Minute blind levels.

Players will compete in a modified "Shootout" format. Each table will start with ten (10) players. The players will compete for only two spots on each table. The Top two (2) finishers will move on to the next round, with the chips that each player has accumulated. The tables will be consolidated after each table has been whittled down to two players.

First Round:
Ten (10) poker players will compete down to Two (2)
Second Round:
Players equally divided between required tables. These same tables will be whittled down to three (3) players each.
Third Round:
All remaining players will compete on Final Table.

Top 3 players will be awarded prizes. The Winning Player receives the Event Championship Bracelet, and the Automatic Entry into the United Bar Poker Tour Colorado Region Championships in June 2010.

Winning player will receive a Colorado State Poker Championship Winner's bracelet, and receives an "At Large" Seat in the United Bar Poker Tour National Championships in June 2010.
