Some players have played with us, some have only heard of us, and the rest of you no nothing about us. We at "The Original Champions" Brand Trading Cards have come up with an exciting new tournament format for amateur players. "The Amateur Tournament of Champions" is a year round double elimination bracket style tournament, with the winners bracket from the Denver area and other cities around the nation leading to Vegas next August. Where we will have the "National Tournament of Champions" to crown the best Amateur poker player from the nation.

We at "The Original Champions" Brand Trading Cards would like to dispel any rumors about our involvement or association with any "Poker Tour". We are NOT a part of, nor have we ever been part of any poker tour. Our goal is to provide a professional atmosphere style of play at no cost to any player, with the opportunity to win major sponsorship prizes. We have sponsored four local tournaments since August 26th, 2007 in the Denver area, bringing together over 300 top amateur players vying for top player status. Check our web site www.theoriginalchampions.com and email us- [email protected] Please remember, our tournament process is just that, a round robin tournament elimination process. So to be clear, the Denver poker tours and you players, who are devoted to your particular venues are not being asked to abandon your loyalties. We are just offering you an alternative opportunity to compete at a new and exciting level that will not effect your nightly play, only give you more tournament experience with a better chance to enhance your playing status and profile. So contact us, and get more information on our upcoming events. Looking forward to hearing from you. Lots of Fun... Lots to Gain...

Thanks for your attention,

For what it's worth, I've already played one of these events - the Halloween costume event at the Bit in Longmont. The tournament was reasonably well run, using the Bit's regular dealers, but with a few additional.

For a bar tournament, it was pretty well run, with a good structure.

I only wish I didn't have to turn in the 3rd biggest stack at final table, because of an unfortunately timed previous engagement. :(

But for the DP forum readers who play bar poker, I can say that the event I played was well run, and seemed to be pretty much run by the same folks who run the normally scheduled games at this venue. Aside from having four extra tables of players, I didn't notice a lot of difference.

I am hoping you can explain this double elminination bracket, though, because all I saw was a list of finishers, and no bracket that carries over to the next event, or anything like that.

I have no idea where this is played at. Is it only at the Bit? What's the address? Nowhere on your website does it say where that is, or where there are any other games you do. I think that if you're trying to grow something it would help to let the world know where you are.

Who's the short guy in the pictures? Is that Anthony?

Hmmm.... Guess we left somethings out. Our tournament at the Bit in Longmont was cosponsored between us and the Bit, and since our formats our so similar it was decided that not much would change from the Bit format. We appreciate all the help from the Bit.

As for the double elimination, the Bit tournament was the first winners bracket tournament. the extra four tables where the previous winners from OUR tournaments. For that reason there was no bracket posted at the Bit tournament.

As far as a schedule we don't have set schedule. We post on the website as tournamnets are scheduled. We schedule them every two-three weeks, so keep checking the website www.theoriginalchampions.com for further information and scheduling of events.

Thanks again,
