HA HA!!!
Way to class it up Brian...
"I love this ****," Masters says, leaning back in his desk chair and folding his hands behind his head. "He's an *******. Those retards deserve to go to jail. I just don't think they're going fast enough."
:p
Pretty good article... Reading the e-mail was pretty creepy..
Also DP.com got a little shout out too!

Decent article. It was weird reading a quote of mine from page 3.
I love that through the entire article, you can definately tell who the author of the article is talking with without even needing to see the name. Brian and Matt each had their own spin on what happened. For the most part, most of what had been posted in the "Has the APT gone too far" thread came out in the article. Too funny.
"APT Rocks!!!"

I think it's kinda creepy if Brian is recording telephone calls. I dunno about Colorado, but in many states, it's a criminal offense to record telephone calls without informing the party on the other end of the line. Just sayin'.
The article didn't really bring up anything new that folks reading DP didn't already know, but it ain't just APT folks who come out of that article looking a bit sleazy. :(
Still, bar poker is here to stay, and that's a good thing. :p

As long as one person in the conversation knows that it is being recorded in Colorado it is legal to record. And if you were getting threating phone calls, wouldn't you record some calls as well??
On a side note, yes I work for him... but I think now would be a good time to unsuspend his and others accounts. Didn't the "new rules" say people could defend themselves?
But it is nice and quiet around here!

I'm guessing you have the law a little wrong there. Obviously one person knows the call is being recorded, someone had to set it up. Recordings of threatening calls are one thing. Recordings of a poor guy trying to get a job are another.

I had no idea they were banned until I read your post. For the record, I do not have the power to ban people on this board. That comes from a higher, and much more angry, authority. ;)

You are correct that in Colorado only one person in the conversation needs to know the conversation is being recorded (and obviously Brian knew he was recording the conversation). But how absurd that he would record someone who calls asking about a job - what’s threatening about that?
It has been nice and quite around here. What do they have to defend themselves against? There hasn't been anything negative in here since Psuedoswede put a halt to the APT posting.

Interesting article. The Mark Cross stuff was interesting. As
usual, he didn't know what hit him. Lots could be said
about his involvement and how he got into it but that
will be left for another 'hand'. LOL

This article sheds alot of light on the way people really think. Some people are clearly desperate...some got taken by what appears to be a professionsl bullsh!tter...and others have such a low level of class that they would kick people when they are clearly in some serious trouble. Maybe they deserve being kicked, maybe not. But show some class folks.

Sounds like BM might be a little paranoid. I would assume that BM wont be getting too many telephone calls from people anymore since everyone knows he is taping their conversations. If he is that paranoid, he has some serious issues.

Rocky Mountain News - 9/27/07 (page 20)
Most charges dropped in rattlesnake case:
GOLDEN- Jefferson County prosecutors dismissed counts of conspiracy to commit murder and kidnappin Wednesday against a man who had been charged with plotting to use rattlesnakes to kill another man.
A Jefferson Coounty district judge also lowered the bail of Christopher Steelman from $500,000.00 to $10,000. Steelman, 34, still faces one count of extortion.
Steelman has maintained his innocence in the case and told the Rocky Mountain News that he alerted the alleged victim of the plot to kill him once he realized that the alleged co-conspirator was serious aboout his intentions.
A preliminary hearing for Steelman was set for Wednesday. Instead, Steelman waived his hearing and is expected to be arraigned for the extortion charge on October 29.
Herbert P. Beck, 57, the alleged mastermind of the plot, still faces charges of attempted murder after deliberation, kidnapping and extortion.

Ironically, this article came out the same day as the Westword story.
Being a lawyer, it is clear that Steelman has been given a nice offer to keep himself out of prison in exchange for testifying against Beck. If Beck goes to trial, Jefferson County will rake him.... Game Over....Guess he didn't know when to fold'em.
