Well, on my way up to Deadwood this weekend I got the urge to stop and play some poker and supposedly this casino had a decent poker room. And while they did have a decent poker area with about 10-15 tables, the action and staff was completely lacking. Now being that I Have run/dealt games in Denver for about the last three years I have developed quite a opinion on how a professionally ran game should run..... This being a casino I would expect just that a proffessionally ran game...:scared: Well first off let's start with the rules they do follow... No cussing and well that's nearly it. So just to give you a little back ground they only run poker games after 3'clock because that is when the dealers get there. It doesn't matter if they have 20on the list they wont start throwing cards till 3. They play all spread limit holdem.... 3-6 50 buyin 3-12 50 buyin 5-50 50 buyin and 2-100 50 buyin. We happen to be playing 3-12 but I guess the 5-50 is their most ran game. And even if the table wants to up the limits they will not do it. Now let's start with the rules they don't follow. A card on the floor is live unless it's been exposed. If you are all-in you must show your cards or you can't win the pot. It doesn't take two cards to win, we found this out when a guy mucked his kicker with his quad aces and still took down the pot. You can talk about your had during the hand you just can't show it. Players are encouraged to make their own change in order to speed up the game. They do half hour downs but only change the decks out upon request. If you say "I call and raise" it's a legal raise. The dealers muck the deck into the burn cards so you don't know if they are mucking the correct number of cards. I was so amazed by this place I just had to post up and let everyone know.. If you are ever in the fine state of SD after 3pm of couse and want to be entertained for a few hours you might want to stop by.
