EASILY the best tourney I have ever playing in blackhawk. Sundays at 3:00. $100 buy-in with 2 $100 re-buys. If you buy in for the full $300 you get 15,000 in chips! It is AWESOME and I will be playing it every week now. The blinds are 30 minutes which is also nice. It may only be 10 minutes more than the average blackhawk tourney but it really makes a huge difference in play. I have never had the pleasure of sitting with better players also (at least for blackhawk) and I really enjoyed just about everything about this tourney. The only negatives: the first break was about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours in and the second break is after an additional 2 1/2 hours of play. I didn't mind but some of the other players (some old lady) were complaining and I must admit I was dying for a cigarette.

Overall a great tourney with the deep stacks and long(er) blind levels it creates the best tourney I have ever played in this state. Go play the 300!!!!

Oh BTW I placed 12th of 40. Not great but I am happy with my play and have no complaints or issues with how I played. Awesome tourney.

Cool, thanks for the info Powda! :)
I'll have to try that one too (still need to make the Wacky Wednesday one too......)

So do they cap it at 40 players?

I'll let you guys know how Switzerland poker is when I get back next month. :)

Thanks Powda,
Not sure on the Eng. only rule....but I'm about to find out. ;)
It's a "Grand Casino" which I believe is owned by Harrah's, so it should be interesting. I just hope I pack the right clothes to get in, as it is "Smart Casual" required.......????

Should be interesting either way. If I see Chris Bigler, I'll say Hi for the DP.com crowd. :)

Hey guys,
I'll be going up to this tourney on June 24th. I won a ticket for a drawing that day for a WSOP seat. You have to be present to win, and it's at 5pm, so I figure I'll try out the 300 tourney at 3p and hopefully still be in it at 5p. :)
Looking forward to it, let me know if you'll be there too.

Awesome man, just know that it is a long one. We had gone nearly 5 hours and the final table still hadn't started. Play tight, buy-in the full amount, and have fun man! Good luck!

Also t-minus 7 hours until I am on a plane for vegas!!!! WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TTTTT!!!!!

And I just thought about it but I think I have like 5 tickets in that thing. I should try and make it up there too. It all depends on how my WSOP goes. Basically if I am making enough money I am staying out there so if I am back in time I might play it the 24th. We will see.

Oh yeah, that's why I can't wait to play it. :)

Well, obviously the WSOP is more important than a little Blackhawk tourney, so no worries if you aren't there!

So have fun out there!

P.S. Sorry I never thanked you for the support post over on cp.com about the Switzerland question. I don't go "over there" too much these days.......but it was cool to see some CO representing going on in their forums. ;)

Well, ****..... I get there at 2:15 and it's SOLD OUT...... I guess I should have left at 12:00 instead of 1.................
I was so pissed off, I didn't even stick around for the 5pm drawing for the WSOP ME ticket.......knowing my luck I probably won it, but you had to be there to win.

It was a mad house there, they had cash game tables filling up faster than they could break, and I thought once the tourney started I might jump into a game, but it was too crazy, so I just left. :(

I have been waiting for this tourney for almost a MONTH, so I feel sick.....but I will try again I guess.

They capped it at 66, and I heard 7 players didn't do the $300 buy-in, which I couldn't believe.....3,000 chips vs people with 15,000??????? Good luck on that one.
I put my name down but at #11 the guy said it was slim to none that I would be able to play, and honestly I don't like coming in to a tourney where there are people with more chips that me to start....so I just left. :(

Anyway, unreal.....I guess the "poker boom" is not slowing down any time soon........and you can bet I will be the first ****ing guy in line at the next one I go to!!!!!

Sorry for the bad news,

It was sold out by 12:30!!! Crazy up there yesterday!

Judith won the drawing - the Judith that plays 2/5 and won't lay a hand down to save her life. She had 108 tickets and was the first name called.

12:30???!!! I thought they didn't start the registration until 1:30? I know lack of planning on my side was partly to blame, as I really didn't know what time to get there, I was just shooting for an hour early, which obviously wasn't enough....lol But if they had sold out before 1:30, that's pretty bad for people who probably knew to be there at 1:30....???

Anyway, glad to hear I didn't "win" the drawing!! :)
Thanks for the post takeittothehouse!

I always cringe when she sits down..even for 2-5 its bad
