I have wondered how the tournament attendence at Blackhawk was? I haven't been up for the Cripple Creek tournaments for awhile but we are usually filled up two hours before the tournaments start in Cripple Creek. The tournaments are as follows:
Sunday: $50, no rebuy, 66 players max
Tuesday: $40, no rebuy, 66 players max
Wednesday: $20, no rebuy, 66 players max
Thursday: $60, no rebuy, 66 players max
Thank you in advance;

When you win a rather large pot such as that do you have to fill out tax forms at casinos? Im only 19 and have snuck into a few casinos playing cash games. Im just worried about getting busted.
Just cuz Im young and stupid doesn't mean im not good at poker...

I think the only time you'd have to do that up in blackhawk/cc is if you're on a table that hits a bad beat jackpot. i was on one once, and they do check ids thoroughly, and make you fill out irs forms.
1200 is the magic number.
Win $1199 or less and you get the cash and a pat on the back.
$1200 or more, you get all the above and an IRS form.

That's interesting to know about the 1200 dollars. I'd much rather win $1199 then :)

The Colorado Central Station tournaments pay 1 place per table. Right now they're pretty much limiting the tournaments to 5 tables (50 people) so they can keep one cash game going at the same time. Also, I think you have to fill out tax forms if you win money in the tournament, regardless of how much it is (sucks).
They now have tournaments 7 days a week. Wednesday at 7pm and Sunday at 4pm are the biggest. $50+10 w/ 2 optional rebuys. 1st place is usually between $2,200 - $2,800, and a deal is often made when it gets down to 5 players. The last couple of times, the winner walked w/ 2 grand and the other 4 split the rest evenly (1k each).
The skill level is really mixed, particularly in the rebuy events. I got knocked out of the Sunday tournament by a guy holding J2o who rivered a straight against my KK.
There are lots of regulars in the tournaments, some who play 5-6 a week. Most of the time you can get a seat if you're there about 90 minutes before the start time, but you really have to be sitting at a cash table to have a chance.

Sorry to break the news but on table games (i.e. Poker) the IRS limit is $600. I recently was at a table at the Lodge where someone got a bad beat, the table stake was ~$650; we all had to give them our SSN/Card to get paid, or they withheld taxes.

I was actually at a bad beat table at The Lodge on 10/31. Yes, we filled out paperwork (and most likely will be receiving a 1099 form next January/February), but no, no taxes were withheld. It was a 7-handed table, so table share was $2294.

Congrats.
I always have said, and always will say I hope that I have to pay millions in taxes every year, because the money you earned to have to do that ain't too shabby
