I'm heading up there tomorrow (12/1) with 6-8 people. Should be there by 5:30pm. Will probably just hang out and have dinner before the tourney. After the tourney, will probably head over to Golden Gates for some 2-5.

How much is the tourney?

It's $40+5. The only problem is that you only start with 1500 chips. You MUST catch good cards and flops early to stay in it.

Two weeks ago, I was told, they fielded 70 players, so the purse was pretty large.

I'll be in jeans, black sweater, and black baseball cap with white trim on the bill.

Crazy stuff.

So I get there at 5pm with the intention on signing up myself and two buddies. Met another friend there at 5pm. We go to the tourney desk, and we sign-up as #33, 34, 35 and 36 (two other friends signed up earlier in the day). Then they said 40 was going to be the cut-off with a "possibility" for an alternate list. I had two more friends coming up, and they were about an hour behind! I would've signed them up, but there was already a line behind us to sign-up for the tourney.

As it turns out, as I was getting reamed at Golden Gates for an hour, they eventually opened up two more tables, so all 8 of us were in the tourney.

Our ultimate goal of all of us to end up at the final table. Needless to say, that evaporated pretty quickly after the first hour! I got lucky on the river quite a few times to eek my way into the final table, and survived amongst the short stacks to back my way into the money. :D
