My brother and I put on a little golf & poker tournament every year around this time. It started out several years ago as my bachelor party and everyone had so much fun that we decided to make it an annual event.
The poker tournament will be Friday, September 22. Play will begin at 8:00 pm. It's a $20 buy-in with one $20 re-buy (bonus chips for using your rebuy before the cards fly). No-Limit Hold 'em is the game. All buy-ins go in to the prize pool, this is completely rake-free. Number of places paid will depend on the number of players, we will pay at least the top 10% of the field. Poker is limited to 48 players and those that are participating in the golf tournament will have priority for participation in the poker tourney.
The golf tourney will be the next day; Saturday, September 23. It'll be a scramble format so that those of us that don't get out as much as we used to don't have to suffer too much. First group tees off at noon at South Suburban Golf Course. Prizes will be awarded for top teams and hole prizes will be awarded as well. Buy-in for golf is $100, or you can register for both events for $120. Any proceeds from golf will be donated to The Children's Hospital.
Please e-mail me if you're interested and I'll send you an info sheet and registration form. Registration is supposed to close September 1, but we'll take some late entries since I'm posting this so close to the event.
