While the DPT dominates most of Denver, TPT rules the south-eastern 'burbs now that DPP is on a downward spiral. Plus, they play in some decent places, unlike some of dives that DPT uses.

Same format as DPP, but the chips aren't as good (those 7g "super diamond" ones with no denominations). My only gripe is that they sometimes bunch 11 to a table if there is a large waiting list.

The top 2 finishers in their "Tournament of Champions" (in September) get a seat in the WPT 5 Diamond Classic at the Bellagio.

The best chance to pick up a win is at The Rail on Wednesday nights. Only one table, and they have trouble filling that up!

Where is The Rail, and what time is the sign in?

Northwest corner of Oswego & Lincoln (about a mile east of I-25). Sign up starts at 5pm (you actually might be able to call-in before 5), tourney starts at 7pm.

Ya know, you coulda just typed it.

Links here will be fine, just no aff links or you become a member of the 'special friend' group and you don't want to be included in that group on this forum software ;)

This forum has a 'rel=nofollow' hack installed so spiders and SE's will ignore all parsed links that aren't entered by an administrator. If you don't know what that means then you aren't a webmaster, seo guru or spammer and it wont matter at all to ya.

The Poker Tour is starting their new session that will start October. They are giving 5 seats to the WSOP next summer. Pretty good 'free' prizes

hey guys I am a dealer on the poker tour a few nights a week. Yes we are giving out 5 seats to the WSOP next year. I do beleive that we are better than the DPT in many ways and this not biased on the fact that i work for tpt (I had 13 wins with DPT this session, I know DPT). Our winners tournament is 1/4 the size of the dpt field and the prizes (in my opinion) are way better. Right now I am dealing the tuesday night game at Ironworks in lakewood (7PM), the wendsday night game at blondies firehouse in englewood (7PM) and the saturday game at the northshore bar and grill in littleton (1PM). Feel free to drop by at any of these games. My name is Danny. For more info on the poker tour go to www.thepokertour.net .

I've played in this once (and should again). The game at Ironworks is run well, the dealer is ugly but seems to know what he's doing.....

Might be a good way to get in to a WSOP seat for cheap since the days of qualifying online are going bye-bye.

Well Danny I would be interested in meeting you. You said you have 13 wins in the DPT, and yet you work for TPT. Interesting, why don't you play in your own game? You said the field is 1/4 the size of DPT, well that's no surprise. I find it interesting that you believe TPT is better than DPT, and yet you say you play in our game.

Prizes... even if your company is giving away 5 WSOP seats... which ones are they for? How many of these seats are satellites? How many are outside satellites? The WSOP has $210.00 outside ring game satellite seats? How many of your seats are main event seats? Why aren't these prizes SPECIFICALLY posted on your companies site? The Denver Poker Tour posts EVERY prize, and we try to post a picture of EVERY winner.

Prizes are better? Even a blind man could see through your biased post.

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion...

PS. Danny, we can't seem to find your name in our system. You say you have 13 wins, and yet according to our records, no one in our game had more than 11 all year.

I am not here to cross swords with you or your tour. I have spoken with my boss about the prizes and they are all going to be at least 1,000 buy ins and (since harrahs is no longer accepting 3rd party sat entries) he will be working with the winners to get them thier seat after our tourney. They will not be bought ahead of time so the player gets more say in the tourney they go to. He may be going as high as a 5,000 buy in for first. No, we arent giving away any ME seats this year but like i said in MY opinion the prizes are better. If i had a ME seat i would try my hardest to sell it so I could play the smaller events. ALSO this is just what I have gathered and none of this is official except the 5 seats (or "tournament entries") that we are giving away as prizes.

Oh and on the wins. I am holding 8 certificates in my hand right now. I know I have more. I may be thinking of a few tournies I won last session because I lost a bunch a few months ago when i moved and do not have them to reference dates. I would be happy to pm you my last name if you dont beleive me so I can be clear in your system .

Oh I didn't even reply to this part.. My bad. I don't play in my game because we are mostly down south and i really don't feel like cruising accross town for free poker. The majority of the times I play in your game is when I get down from the hill and my buddies wanna go out. Basically it all boils down to convenience. I can hit the bar a block away and play free poker or I can go clear accross town and play free poker. I'm really there for the beer.

Oh and I would play the games on my side of town but I work them so that isn't really an option.

There is a new free poker tour in the Evergreen/Conifer/Morrison/Idaho
Springs area that has a different approach to the DPT and other local tours.
this Tour, All in Series Productions, has signed an agreement to produce
a reality show based on amateur players culled from multiple tours across
the US. ASP is based in Evergreen and plays at mutiple locations in that
area. In terms of winners tourneys and such, they are giving away
airline tickets, seats to WPT events, custom bikes in addition to the normal stuff that comes along.
Great game and great characters showing up to play.
the production deal is signed and scripts written
for the reality show. Their new site will be up shortly announcing their
operations.

As juicy as this is, I really don't think this is the right spot for this ridiculous conversation. I think you both should let your respective poker tours speak for themselves, then people can decide which one is better. Fact is people are going to do what's convenient for them. if that won't work why don't you guys find a nice chat room to fight in, and settle it like cyber men.

Just like Brian. He must feel intimitated. Every prize is not posted, as he has stated. I know of someone who took 2nd place a little over a year ago at a DPT final event and DID NOT receive the prize that had been promised for the 2nd place finisher (say what you will Brian, but you know this is true, I was there). So, don't sit here and try to say that. By the way the games TPT put on are much better. "Interesting, why don't you play in your own game?" Grow up!!! The last time I checked, free 'bar' poker is just that, bar poker. In other words, the bars pay you and every other bar poker tour out there. If a dealer from another tour wants to play in a bar that you, Brian, do not own, but is hosting a DPT event, then that is their right.

I have no beef with the DPT but apearently they have beef with me. I am going to refrain from further arguments.

Sorry guys. I entered this forum on a bad note. Didn't mean to do that to you. I am here for poker discussion with my fellow coloradans and did not think that mentioning that I deal on a free bar poker tour would cause a problem. I truly am here to talk poker. I hope all is forgiven :)

p.s. I would like to challenge this forum to bring up some good discussion on poker. I am not new in any way to forums, let alone poker forums, and would like to see a good local showing. So far it is very dead around here...

NO LURKING YOU!!!!!

Get out there and post something. The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. Let's get the ball moving;)

I wish to make you a challenge... you said that there is a player who won 2nd place in our final tournament over a year ago. I will challenge you to a $1000.00 charitable donation to the chairty that you choose, that this information is incorrect, or simply put that you are lying.

The person you are regferring to "Sammy" was paid within 5 days of winning 2nd place. He then threatened to tell everyone that he wasn't paid. When "Sammy" was confronted about this, he physically attacked one of our managers. The police were called and he was cited for this.

But I will be perfectly honest with you anyway.

I DONT CARE WHAT YOUR OPINION IS!

You have repeatedly posted anonymous comments about my company and myself. You are a coward! You hide behind the fact that you can be anonynmous on the internet. Grow up!

AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN DON'T PLAY IN THE DPT GAME. But I will not let you spread blatant lies about our company.
