And overall I would say it was a good time. My wife took me up the hill for my birthday on Saturday and we hit the Gilpin about 3:30 but it was dead...only 1 table going and only half full. We decided to walk down to the Golden Gates and just stayed there for about four hours.
Sat at a freshly opened 2-5 table with a rack of whites and 3 and a half hours later cashed out a total of $309 and the little lady cashed out $275. Not too bad. Lots of fish, got sucked out on only once though. Can't figure out if my game was on or everybody else's wasn't.
We would have stayed longer but a guy sat down at the table and pretty much ruined it for me. He lost a couple of big hands to me (which is fine) but then just got loud and silly. Not pushing his chips out far enough for the dealer (one time flung his blind right at the dealer), just kinda rude stuff. As I am racking up my chips he mutters "great, all the money is leaving". I laugh as a lady at the end of the table says "yeah, and most of it is yours"!
A good time, still. The wait staff was good and fast and the dealers were friendly and liked to have a good time. I will be heading back here for sure.
