What is your experience with people being ID'ed at the Gilpin? Happen frequently?

I can't remember the last time I have been ID'd in Blackhawk...although I will tell you that about 6 years ago two friends of mine got busted there with fake ID's....I was 21 but they were not, and they got through the casino security fine...however an undercover cop nailed them...the ID's they had were top notch and he didn't question it based on the ID, just that they looked young(my buddy is 26 now, and still gets carded all the time)

One thing I will say though, for some reason I never get carded in the poker room, Blackhawk, Vegas, etc...but do at other table games or while playing slots...

All of my friends love getting carded, it takes them back to their younger years.....

EXCEPT:
We were walking through the Bellagio once, and my friend got stopped because of the 18 and over rule!!! She was a little upset for being carded, and my other friend was pissed that they DIDN'T card her.......I can't win...lol

As for the Gilpin I wasn't carded, but I also look older than 21....which I am....:cool:

The only place in Black Hawk I have been carded is at Central Station. I dont feel too bad about it though. It makes me feel younger than I am. I am 31 so it takes me back a few years!

what are the consequences of playing poker underage?

and getting caught I mean.

If you want to play poker in a casino and you're under 21 make a trip out to San Diego, there are some very nice card rooms out there and they have no-limit:p . I've heard the penalties for getting caught underage can be very harsh i.e. jail time, probation, fines, I had a friend who had all of those things happen to her not too long ago.

You could also find yourself a good home game that will lett you play something other than 2-5 or 5-5
