After a week of cold cards, tonight was a hot night. Right from the start my friend and I took control of the table. We were catching straights and boats left and right. All was going well until we got to the final table. I go all in with a queen high flush. On the board is 8-J-J-7. I'm not too worried about it. 3 people call. The dealer forgets to burn a card and turns over another 7. Two guys have jacks end up splitting my pot and I get screwed. A few people saw the mistake and said something, but nothing was done
Even though I didn't win anything tonight, I had a great time. This was at Fox & Hound up on 120th and wads (Denver poker parties).

got to love dealers who can mess up you whole game. One other reason why i really dont play many freebies. but hay lets hope you keep your hot cards (exp. for sat.)

Well, the cards cooled off tonight. I was heads up with a slight chip lead. I ended up folding every single hand till I was about out. Couldn't bluff the guy because he was calling everything. I end up going all in with big slick, but he gets trip 10's. The only reason he was in the game that long was he got 3 people to go all in on the second hand so he had 40% of the table's chips from the get go.
So I'll blame tonight on the noobies who gave up all their chips when they had NOTHING. He won with a pair. Everyone else had high card.

well just as the cards heat up for you they DIED for me. This just gose to show ya anyone can have bad nites. This nite was the worest. Well i went to Mark to play in his $13.00 tournament. WEll there was so many people they wanted to run 3 tables. and needed another dealer. So i said ok i will deal. Then its like my mind shut down and i got really shakey. As a kid i had some problems with anxiede (spelling) attcks. Thats were poker came in i use poker as a claming tool. and it worked and continues to this day. But for some reason tonite i got a bad spell and it hit me while i was playing and i just could read cards right i was calling out worng winning hands. It got to bad i just got up and left. gave my chips away. i was even high stacked. but i guess this just happen to people like me. never know when its goin to hit and how hard. something i have to live with. But im sure it will go away and i will continue to play. but hate giving up lose chips. Because of tonite. I think i will withdraw myself out of playing action for tomarrow and just help out Kevin. a good days rest will be a welcome change. I started a new job to so that is on my shoulders as well. For anyone who has read "Super Systems" Doyle talks about taking brakes very once and a while. not becasue you are losing jsut because you mind and body need a change of pace. I think it time for me to begain my vaction. This will also give me more time to work on CPPA stuff.

I finally had a good night myself on Thursday. I finished 8th at Red and Jerry's. I had both good and bad luck during the night. I should have been done about 45 min in, but caught a 10 on the river to complete a q high straight. I picked up pocket aces twice tonight only for two different people to have pocket Kings and got another on the board. The second one putme in 8th place. It makes me hesistant to ever go all-in again on pocket rockets!

Just a quick poll (without posting a poll).....what percentage does everybody win (if you keep track) with pocket rockets?? I am about 50/50....which is pretty poor with the rockets
I will now post a poll on the forum after second thought
It seems that if I see pocket rockets win ONCE that night, they win all night....and if they lose ONCE...they lose all night.

Maybe concentrating on more than one thing caused your spell. I ahve seen this before with a friend of mine. He was fine when he was just concentrating on one thing...then bam, once another thing was throsn into the mix, his anxienty started to act up. Maybe just do one or the other.
Advice from Dr. TJHoldem.

I would say that I win with pocket rockets about 85% of the time. THe other 15% is I throw a hand away after giving up what I feel is too much money.
So, I don't necessarily take the pot 85% of the time, but I do know when to lay them down
