Hi guys,
Has anyone ever dealt with "Scott" from Executive Poker in Arvada?
I won a chip set at the G3 convention Hold em tournament back in NOVEMBER, and the set was supposed to ship in 2 weeks....

So FOUR months later I haven't seen $#!T....
Emails go unanswered, phone was only answered ONCE (out of 6-7 attempts) and he told me he had an issue with the chip printer (for custom design), and that it would be "a couple weeks", well that was over a month ago.........

Obviously since I didn't pay for them, it hasn't been as big of a deal (as opposed to the $250.00 he said it was worth!!!), but damn it, when you win something, you should get it...!!!

Anyway, just curious if anyone else had any dealings with this guy, or I just want to warn you before buying from him in the future.
Chad

It sounds to me like they ripped you off. I paid $129.99 for a 500 piece chip set customized here in Denver. I had the denominations on one side and A Royal Flush with my initials on the other. I think it looks pretty cool. Nobody else has the pattern either.
On a side note, anyone hear how much money was raised for the charity at the G3, or did it just go in someones pocket?
750 players does not equal a Guiness Record.

Yeah, the whole thing seemed a little "fishy" (and not in the poker sense...), and they only had 200-250 MAX at this thing, no where near what they were advertising on the radio (something like 1500 to 2000)....
I really hope that money went to the actual cause. The "Hold em for Hope" website has been unavailable since the tourney.......a little questionable if you ask me...
Anyway, I will post an update if/when I reach this Scott guy again....

Maybe you should forward this to Tom Martino the "Troubleshooter" on Fox-31. It seems like many of the so called "charity" tournaments are just fronts for the organizers to make a buck off of us charitable poker players. I wonder if this was one of them?

Hey guys,

I am Dani McCauley, the executive Director of Sean's Hope. I have seen the thread here and am concerned that you may think that our foundation is something other than what we really are and want to set the record straight. It is a personal mission of our family to help others in their fight against pediatric cancer and that means the world to us.

As far as the tournament went, Sean's Hope was the beneficiary of the proceeds and has received just over $10,000 as a result of the event. There were approximately 150 players at the tournament.

As far as the attendance being so low, you can imagine we were also very dissapointed. Sean's Hope was not responsible to put the event on, and the people who did so were not quite delivering on what they promised for promotions. We were contacted and asked if we would like to be the beneficiary of the proceeds and thought it would be good fun, but ultimately the event logistics were not handled by us.

I don't have any information about the chips being delayed however it sounds like the company has acknowledged the order and that they are just not the best in business practices for delivering. I don't know the name of the company who donated these chips, but I will certainly try and find out from the event team and try and get to the bottom of this.

One last thing...Sean's Hope has a mission that at least 98% of every penny ever raised goes directly to help families. In this instance, the money raised is helping families here in Denver who are in treatment for pediatric cancer at Children's Hospital of Denver.

If anyone would like to talk with me or discuss this further, I welcome you to email me at [email protected] I also encourage you to check out our website at www.seanshope.org.

Thanks for your time and I hope you know that Sean's Hope is NOT trying to do anything other than help families, as our own son also battled cancer when he was 10 months old and is now 5 years cancer free.

Hi Dani,
Thank you for the post, it's good to actually hear back from someone involved in that tournament! I figured Sean's Hope was legit, based on what I saw at the event and the Sean's Hope website. I was very willing to donate to this charity as I have had 3 friends die from cancer, one at age 14, so I am glad this type of thing is around.

I guess I just found it weird that the "Hold em for Hope" website went down almost immediately after the event, I guess I can understand that if it was only a one time event and you didn't want to pay for the hosting fees. But it didn't help my worries....

Anyway, I have meant no disrespect to your organization, and am glad the money was raised for such a great cause.

I will send you a private email with all of the info on this chip deal....

And welcome to the forum, sorry I had to draw your attention to it under these circumstances, but this site is a great resource for players in Colorado!
:)

Sincerely,
Chad

Hi Danielle,

I'm glad they came through with the charity part of their deal.

Perhaps you can provide Chad with contact information to the organizers of G3? Maybe they could also help with contacting the people who organized the poker tourney.
